The inspiration behind the Marula Collection is drawn from the Marula tree found in Southern Africa. More specifically, the belief that fermented fruit from the Marula tree has been said to intoxicate elephants. 

The chair and footstool resemble a playful relationship between a mother and her calf, relaxing after feasting on some fermented Marula fruit. These playful elements are contrasted by comfort, stability and maturity.
